Surabaya Marines Base ( SMB) is under command of Indonesian Marines Corps quarter ( one of the Operational Command ) which is located on Opak St. 09 Surabaya. It was established when our nation started to re-apply for Pancasila and UUD 1945 at the beginning of New Orde on 29th November 1966. It means that SMB has being exist for 42 years. It has some main tasks related to the others Marines Units in eastern teritory include Surabaya until the east part of Indonesia.There are some main tasks for example :
- to support the logistic needs for Operational Units in eastern teritory.
- to maintain the weapon and battle/ combat vehicles so that always on alert.
- to supply the stock of ammunition for units that will join the exercise or operation.
- to serve the healhty support for marines member and their family.
Based on the Organisation structure, SMB has a responsibility to manage some units belong to under command of it. There are 5 detachements, a hospital and main command quarter. Each unit has their own chief/ commander that responsibles with the improvement of their unit.
Last but not least, as a part of Indonesian Defence Intitution SMB always try to explore its function as good as possible in order to defend our nation from war threath and against our nation enemy.
